How to sequence a seed pitch deck
2026-08-19
A seed meeting is a skim, then a conversation. The deck is the skim. Sequence it so a partner can reconstruct the company from the first six slides without you in the room.
Put the company on slide one
Name, one-line job, and who pays. If the reader cannot repeat those three facts after slide one, later proof does not land.
Problem before product
Show the costly, recurring job your buyer already tries to solve. Then show the product as the replacement, not as a tour of features.
Why now, then why you
Timing is a claim about the market. Founder-market fit is a claim about you. Keep them on separate slides so neither has to carry the other.
Traction as a sentence, not a dashboard
One number with a time window beats a collage of charts. If you do not have revenue, use a leading indicator you would still show after you do.
Ask last, and make it operational
Close with the round, the use of proceeds, and the next milestone the money buys. The ask is a plan, not a slogan.
